Currently, the world's tallest woman is Yao De Fen from China. She stands at 7'9" (236,2cm)!
The video above clearly shows that Yao is the tallest woman in the world. I think she broke the Guinness World Record too.
Here's a short story about Yao:
19 years ago she was diagnosed with Acromegaly, which is a disease resulting from a tumour on the pituitary gland causing it to pump out excess growth hormone.
Thanks to a documentary being made for a British Television programme, two of the leading doctors specialising in Acromegaly have offered to help De-Fen for free.
The doctors and the television production team have been raising money for De-Fen’s recovery and future.
Personally, I hope that De Fen is 10 inches shorter so she can lead a healthy and normal life. However, it seems that you can grow up to 7'2" and still not suffer from major health issues. Being tall isn't a good thing if it kills you or forces you to live in poverty.
But adding 2 to 4 inches to your height will be sweet.
